“too wordy”? HA! I’ve written for newspapers and the usual problem is that they don’t like certain facts that don’t portray what they want to portray. So, they fill the articles with material unimportant to the story, leaving out key facts.
I sometimes state that papers like the Oregonian read like pre-1991 Itar-TASS or Pravda. I’m not kidding by a long shot. A complete change happened in the 1990s when the 1996 telecom act was passed, allowing a few very rich communists and international socialists to buy up most of the media.
