    some say camping, especially sleeping under the stars syncs up our natural body clock to sunrise, sunset and not by the clock. others say camping is being homeless. and, then others say camping is really rving(caravaning) with sat tv, internet, wifi, modern conveniences, etc….

    My idea of roughing it is a Hotel room without WiFi. My true camping days are long over with.

    Went camping years ago, roughing it was b/w TV with no cable. Hated camping, only went because all my friends did and would rather be miserable than lonely

    The invention of fire then later means of illumination opened the night to staying up later.

    I wonder if they’re returning to Cactus Flats?

    I used to drive by a big lake towards DOC for teen boys. Seen campers with tents or small to medium campers, I have no desire to camp.

    My husband hates camping. He says he did enough in Vietnam, thank you very much. On the other hand, camping is second nature to me. It has changed a bit over the years, though.
    I have my sleeping arrangements all worked out:
    Recline the seats in the Forester, open the moonroof after throwing a mosquito net over the whole car.
    Now, is anyone willing to loan me a shower?

    Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett put it best: the last 6000 years of human history have been one long attempt to get as far away from Nature as possible. Who am I to argue?

    Oh, Andy would REALLY kill Roger if he brought her back there…

    @TrapperJohn

    Sure do, netting mosquitoes has become something of a midnight hobby,
    especially when my camper friends insist on parking their rig next to a storm drain overflow pond.
