    @Bruno Zeigerts from yesterday:

    Yes it was Police Academy 5. I loved watching all of the movies when I was a kid.

    I used to make my own blackpowder rockets as a kid. Most did nothing. Some fizzled on the launch pad and a more than comfortable amount simply blew up. There were actually one or two that flew somewhat successfully.

    They were “launched” (if you can call it that) from a concrete bunker and aimed over a body of water.

    My lack of success with solid propellant rockets deterred me from trying my hand at liquid propellant versions. Besides liquid oxygen was tough to come by in my neighborhood.

    It didn’t matter Von Braun had the jump on me getting to the moon anyway.

    Brings back memories of some big time failures in high school, and then on to the real world of large rockets that also failed at times thanks to the US Army!

    I’ve seen this happen. It’s funny if it’s not coming at you.

    Got swooped at by a bat 3 years ago. Since it was dailylight, and bats normally are not aggressive, it made me wonder if it was ill.

    I used to cast my own propellant slugs for the rockets I built in the ’60’s. Now if I tried to buy the necessary chemicals, the ATF and DHS would be on my doorstep. The only liquid fuel motors I built were for ground test only, using gaseous oxygen and gasoline.
