As a kid, I seemed to be surrounded by people who thought of sport as a religion that you absolutely had to participate in…
    Even if you hated it.

I hated sports-season because it preempted quite a few good TV shows back when…

    THANK GOD FOR THE INTERNET!!!

My father – to this day – watches anything and everything remotely competitive…even bowling or golf! I’m thankful I married a man who doesn’t care for sports except for hockey and NASCAR, which are the only ones I like, too.

I’m 13 and I’m surrounded by people who follow practically every popular sport almost religiously. I’m like the only person in my grade who doesn’t.

On football Saturdays, the football stadium at my college has more people in it than the third largest city in the state.
    .
Anyone know where I go to college from that? I believe it’s in a number of “interesting fact” books.

Most professional sports are boring, boring, boring. Little League baseball is very entertaining. If you can’t play it, watch it.

One mans’ cheese is another man’s rotted milk…. Leave others their otherness…. I myself love Baseball and Football and find other sports boring… once more: to each their own…..

At least I’m old enough that I never had gym class in grammar school. Gym class and forced sports didn’t come until high school, where not only would I be the last one picked for teams, but I used to feel sorry for whichever team got stuck with me because I’d probably make them lose. Needless to say, I hate sports. That’s was a big part of the reason why I decided to change to a different high school in 11th grade, a much less competitive high school. That was a lot better.

Hated sports in both Junior High and High Schools and I was one of the last picked. Seemed that I was the one to end up with the medicine ball in the stomach or the broken finger from volley ball.

When I was in Junior High, I hit a softball during gym and it spun up and smacked me in the eye.
    .
I tried sports again in high school, basketball.
I’m totally incompetant. My presence was the only thing that kept up from having to forfet the game, 4 people instead of 5. We still lost.
    .
I garden now. at least when I fail, it’s not in front of the public.

    ……
Hmnnn? When I was in grammar school about 4th grade I think it was. JFK was president and physical fitness was a fad… 50 mile hikes and what not. Suddenly we had Gym class in school a couple times a week… no sports, calisthenics…jumping jacks, push ups, leg lifts…. hated it…
