Yeah, the two middle panels did look a little too good to be true.

My boss HAS said those middle panels to me at one time. He’s a great guy.

Dang, nice, too bad I couldn’t skip school, because the teacher said the same exact thing except for the 3rd panel last week.

What we would want to hear from a caring boss.

Welcome to the world of contract engineering. “We have nine weeks of work to do, but the purchase order was delayed for six weeks because the VP who approves them was out of town, but we can’t move back the completion date because we have other projects that are dependent on your project, so if you don’t mind working sixteen hour days for three weeks that would be great. And don’t even think about billing us for more than three weeks of 8-hour days, because we have a couple of foreign engineers we can call who will work 20 hour days for less.”

It’s also common in the field of law. I frequently have to stay a little later to help finish documents that have to be filed with the court that day, and when there are several deadlines that fall on the same day (as will be the case on Monday, in large measure because our clients didn’t bother to do THEIR homework until the last minute), it’s a nightmare!

Roger should have let Jason help him so that wouldn’t happen.

I surprised he isn’t being sent home without pay to clean up and look more “professional.”

Poor Roger…

Unless it had to do with advanced math, science, or technology, Jason wouldn’t have touched it. He only excels in those three areas – give him an assignment having to do with writing, reading anything other than an advanced math or science textbook (ask him sometime what he thinks of any piece of literature that isn’t based on popular sci-fi), or history, and he’s worse than Peter at applying himself to the task.

This is why you do the work early.
