Please tell me Foxtrot classics aren’t looping now. I’ve definitely had this strip before, and it wasn’t all that long ago, either.

Yes, I’ve seen these just a year or two ago … my memory might fail me, it could be three, but I doubt it.

The good old Super Mario Bros. method of defeating a boss?

Yes Jason, sometimes the best way of not getting defeated by the Red Orb Guardian is to leave him alone. (It’s kind of like when you tell doctor it hurts when you do this and he or she says don’t do that).

Many strips do re-runs as filler for vacations and such, and when a strip in re-runs does a repeat it’s deja vu all over again

As I suggested yesterday. Hay, I might have gleaned that from a previous reading of this.

There used to be a game called “Colossal Cave” that was done entirely in text, no graphics. At one point in the game there was a dragon blocking the way, and you would type “Kill dragon”. The game would answer “With what, your bare hands?” The correct response was “Yes” and you walked right on by.

In this case, it’s a permanent thingy. The only new strips Amend is doing are the Sunday strips. And the list of reruns seems woefully low.

It may be a re-run, but to me, it never gets old. When I first saw this, I started adopting the strategy in all my games. I only fight if I have to. Works for the US Military as well: “Do not fire until fired upon.”
