Is this an old comic? Why didn’t she just go to the school library and print a new copy? Unless this is before the days of computer labs in schools and flash drives.

Written like a real youngster who now has easy, and cheap, access to scanners and copiers.
Back when the strip was originally written, most homes DID NOT have a scanner, and commercial copying servers were expensive.

Yeah, I too wonder what the teacher will say. The essay probably won’t look too good.
