So glad the beanie baby craze is over. Odd how ordinary plush can turn soccer moms into fanatical collectors.

It is curious (and frightening) to see what generations of television has produced. A compliant and docile consumer market.

I miss the Beanie Baby’s…almost as much as I miss the Cabbage Patch dolls & Pet Rocks !!! Not !!

What about those Trolls? You know with the hair.

Ooooh! I remember trolls!!
How many of you guys got your slap bracelets and gigapets taken away by teachers?
cdward said, 5 months ago
I’m way too old for slap bracelets and gigapets. But Trolls were around back in the 60s (made a revival later, I think).

what’s even more messed up is seeing little girls of today play with the same toys I played with 25 years ago….My Little Pony, Strawberry Shortcake, Carebears, Cabbage Patch Kids……to name a few.

…and don’t forget Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles…

Usually I love this comic strip, but I take strong exception to the casual blasphemy here.

I had a pet rock…..still have it! My son did the teenage mutant ninja turtles. I used to know all of them by name, color as well as the weapon they used! (I must watch waaaayyy too much TV)

JTRaine - I don’t know, I think it’s a little encouraging that kids today have some of the same toys we did. Of course, my students have to explain Wii and Webkins to me, so I guess I’m feeling old! ;)

My little brother found what was left of my TMNT collection from when I was a kid, and he loves them as much as I did
SaintRCat said, 5 months ago
It’s hard not to forget TMNT when it’s still on GoComics. Granted, this version is like watching Rocky and Bullwinkle…

The Beanie Baby Craze has faded I find new ones now and then and buythme for my edls Sis as she collects them.Last fall, I purchased her ‘Righty’ before his date of Birth, November 4 2008, and I mailed him to her to arrive before November 4, 2008. A True collector’s Dream.

kfaatz925; true enough, I feel less old seeing them playing with the same toys I did.
That said, I have a Wii LOL (and no kids for an excuse to own one!)

Amazing how stuff comes and goes, isn’t it? Yess Trolls made a revival in the late 80s early 90s when I was just a kid, and my best friend was Troll CRAZY!
I’m surprised Scooby Doo is still popular after all these years, though he has gone through some changes.
And even though Transformers and GI Joe are total news to my Nephew, I remember my kid brother having them ALL over the house! (Seems like this stuff revives every 20 years or so. The 60s stuff revived in the 80s, the seventies stuff revived in the 90s, the 80s stuff revived in the current age.)

JTRaine, you forgot about Rainbow Brite.
