Send it to Victoria in SE Australia - 11th year of drought, huge bushfires, 100s of live lost, nearly 2000 homes destroyed…

And yet, I guarantee, people will rebuild there and be completely shocked when it happens again.

Well, what are their other options? Uproot? Emigrate? Leave jobs/extended families/friends on the off chance someone might set fire to half the country again? I love how people are always critical of disaster survivors for going back to their homes once the trouble’s over. Should all the millionaires in Southern California move to Chicago because there might be another fire? Oh, wait, Chicago burned down once, too. No place is completely safe, and you’ve got to live somewhere.

wndrwrthg: LOL, that didn’t really work for the hippies, did it?
11 years of drought is unimaginable. I hope that relief will arrive soon, and I weep for those people who were trapped in the fires a couple of weeks ago…especially since arson was allegedly responsible for some of the fires.

I agree, Txmystic - truly a tragedy what happened in Australia. And to think it was deliberate is beyond comprehension.
