So to speak, James has become a Benedict Arnold in his/Jane’s Marine family.

And here I thought all the military branches had the same goal of defending the nation. Who knew they couldn’t co-exist.

I went to school in Pensacola, FL. Navy bases and Air Force base there. I cannot tell you how many fights I witnessed between the two branches, with a few Marines thrown in. And in school it was Navy kids against Navy kids about who was best – Seals or Seabees. Good grief. I always thought Seals were a SpecOp group and Seabees were the Navy version of the Army Corp of Engineers and there should be no comparison. But who am I to say? I was an Army brat.

The different branches co-exist fine. Unless it’s peacetime. Then it’s on!

I can understand his joining the army. My biggest fear growing up was being drafted into the Marine Corps. I love them, I respect them, I support them, but they are too hardcore for me to be a member.

If I’m not mistaken, you’re drafted into the Army or Navy, you volunteer for Air Force and Marines. I know people who were drafted and they went into the Army or Navy. Everyone I know who was Air Force or Marine voluntetered.
