   does it really matter what bread you use for french toast? wheat, rye, asiago cheese, rosemary and herbs, or does it have to be white bread. well, it has to be better than milk toast.

   I grew up on whole wheat. I can’t imagine white French toast (or why you’d want to bother).

   Wheat bread would give it a nice nutty flavor. I like it, but my wife doesn’t. (Its works well for ‘toad in a hole’.)
