The scholar G. K. Chesterton said, “When a culture loses all its virtues, tolerance will become its leading virtue.”

And here we are, revtry. My wife and I are just waiting for our pastor to be arrested for hate speech because he preaches what the Bible says.

Wouldn’t be the first to try to rewrite the Bible to suit thier needs.

Ain’t that the truth! If folks aren’t re-writing, they’re “cherry-picking” – this verse, but not that one.

Curious thing, before tolerance all other religions had to shut up or pay taxes. Mr. Chesterton had a strange way of looking at tolerance.

I had the JW in mind when I commented, but I’m sure they,re not the only ones.

Some churches resist this sort of thing. Of course, they are (by definition) therefore bigoted, out of date, and discriminatory. . . .

Care to clarify that statement? You must know that simply calling something doesn’t work. Never ever did.

The Bible does say not to hide your light under a bushel, but there are times and places appropriate and inappropriate

Many people try to evangelize at the wrong time, in the wrong place, etc and run the risk of turning people away rather than drawing them towards faith

That is why I consider this comic to be one of the very few here on GoComics where it is appropriate to discuss religious matters, when people try on the other comics it tends to do their cause more harm than good

Of course the same principle holds for Politics, but for some people that is an obsession eclipsing even the most dedicated religious fervor and their need to proselytize their beliefs borders on mental illness

Yep. And then there’s that quote I just saw recently by Winston Churchill: “A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”
