The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints utilizes the KJV which also includes a Bible dictionary and topical guide.

Well, King James I ruled England from 1603 to 1625. Thee and thou are the English equivilents of the French tu and toi, or the German du and dein. These are words intimate, used to speak to a dear friend, or between parents and children. Only strangers were addressed as “you”. So, in answer to your question, Yes, they really did say thee and thine when the KJV was translated.

The simple fact that there are so many different translations makes it hard for me to believe that there really is a “most accurate”

I believe in “Gods’ Word”, and I also believe that Man has done a fantastic job of messing up the message

God gave men the ‘inspired words’ then man gave us “religion”

Many translations are done by well-known scholors in the field. the New World translation is done by a group of anonymous self-taught “bible students”, who never studied Hebrew or Aramaic or Greek before.

Why aren’t all people who want to read the Bible trained in archaic Greek, Hebrew & Aramaic? Isn’t that the languages it originally was in? Transliteration can change meanings of worlds and names.

The Bible is the most authenticated document in all of antiquity. It has more historical cross references to verify its content veracity then the other top 10 authenticated documents in ancient history.

There are over 25,000 independent sources that confirm Bible authenticity. When the Dead Sea Scrolls were found in 1947 one of the most astounding results was that they completely confirmed New Testament content. i have heard the Bible is about 98.5% solid in the content between all the versions thru history.

Where they differ is a well known and debated by trained theology scholars. The majority of these differences are translation issues, some are based on differences in doctrine (a bigger issue).

Suffice to say we can be extremely confident that the Bible, even with all its many translations, still abundantly conveys God’s words and messages.

BTW Jesus Christ is one of the most authenticated people of ancient history. Scholars are more certain that He actually lived (because He is cited in so many independent accounts of history) then almost any of the names we know from those times.

The most accurate translation of the corrupt Wscott and Hort document maybe. The King James Version is the ONLY English language translation for saved people. There is only 1 version. Everything else is a PERversion.

Really? Which version? I always love the fact that you can just pick and choose what parts to follow and what has been “mistranslated”.
