Jesus was a republican. At least according to the Chrisitan Taliban crowd.

Or the ignorant atheist crowd who spouts mindless drivel.

Aptly put comment on the politics of the moment, Mike.

Incidentally, I’d agree with you minus the bigotry.

No, Jesus was the Son of God. He transcended anything petty like political parties.
.
Individuals follow Christ.
.
There is trend today for anyone living in a Christian-founded nation to call themselves a Christian. It is not correct. Jesus and His Apostles indicated in the Bible that there are currently only two kinds of people: the unSaved and the Saved (born again).
.
When those who believed in Christ left the Democrats (the Party was twice as large as the Republican Party in 1980, but by 1990 the non-Socialists had left, leaving the Republican party with a larger membership) from 1980 on, it left a vacuum in the Democrat Party. There was already a heavy element that believed in the religion of Socialism, and by 1990 it was dominant to the point of every other viewpoint being drowned out.
.
There are indeed Christians in the Democrat Party, but these are almost exclusively the over 55 crowd, who vote Democrat because they always have. From GenX on, one finds no born again believers in the party.
.
So if the Republicans are now a majority of Christians, it’s because the Democrats made it very uncomfortable for them, with platforms from 1970 on incorporating more and more of Marx’s religion and more and more evils that rip apart our social fabric. It’s been a continuous series of the latter. Living together out of wedlock and single motherhood was what the party endorsed in the 1980s when I was in high school. It’s gone from one thing to another since then. The endorsement of homosexuality is merely the latest fad in the party. H.R. 1913 2009 endorsed pedophilia and 200 other “practices.” Tomorrow they will push something else. It’s been continuous since the late 1970s.

My, that’s quite a sermon for so early in the morning. The early Christians “had all things in common…and parted them to all men, as every man had need.” Acts 2:44-45. Sounds like Socialism to me.

The preacher must be reading the Conservapedia version of the bible, also known as the gospel according to Schlafly.

You should know better than to play the well worn “one true Scotsman fallacy” by now. Yet it comes up no matter the education level.
Dani Rice some where in the last 400 or so years Jesus was converted to a warrior who supports Capitalism.

What election? It was “imposed” on them no votes required.

Thanks for the history lesson! I didn’t know that, but I can relate. I’m one of those who switched political parties in the 80’s (shortly after I became a Christian).

And now our friends in the red state party have chosen the Pharisee route that their Savior abhorred, As their “opposites” choose the Saducee road. things firming up for end times even as Russia poses to invade Iran at the drop of a missle. People need to be saved, not converted to a party. I believe that’s Mike’s unwritten message here.

For a correction on the needs of Christians, John MacArthur’s the Gospel According to Jesus. You might need to look up the definition of KING.

Pure, uncorrupted socialism perhaps. The problem with todays socialism is that it is corrupted by a greed for power.
