I went to a church that taught that God wanted to bless you, but you had to help him. The more you bless God in the offering plate, the more God can bless you back.
I quit going there.

No one can be rigth with God until they are right with God’s money. I have a ton of testimonies of how people who tithe have fewer financial disasters than those who don’t. Including my own life.

Just try it for three months with an open mind (and hopefully heart). As it says, test him and see what happens.

Looks like “GOD” needs the filthy lucre to get by just like the rest of us. Trailer park “HEAVEN” must be a great place to live.
EDIT: Besides.. I thought “that” was Caeser’s.

Tithes must be getting tight with so many people out of work. I expect to be hearing more stories of churches kicking out people for not paying. Has happened before.

Tithes and offerings aren’t for God, they’re for US. They help us remember that everything we have is a gift from God. He asks us to demonstrate trust in Him by giving some up for others, and then trusting that He will take care of us if we come up short. You remember that line “Thou shalt not covet”? Well, it’s also possible to covet (or want greedily) something we already own. When we covet what we have, we refuse to give it up. When we give it up, we are free from covetessness.

Cain murdered Able because Able gave the tithe as God directed and Cain did not – and was condemned for it.
