Money given to God should be freely given with a glad and cheerful heart. When a church pressures it’s congregants into tithing it blesses not the giver to give.

Actually tithes/money are not ‘given’ to God, but to support the churches Physical mission, so they can exist to teach us about Spiritual Living. For example as building maintenance in and out, utilities, salaries, candles, hospitality food and drink, books, indoor plumbing supplies not to mention communion supplies etc etc…
It is a Business of sorts, if people don’t want to pay for the product, the business will suffer and maybe have to close.
Tithes are not Alms, that is covered in Matthew 6:1-4
Only 30% of our members financially support our center with Pledges, the other 70% enjoy
all the Membership bennies, discounts on books, free food and drink, indoor plumbing supplies… you get the picture.
If you go directly to God the teachings are free, but as long as we need guidance from outside ourselves it will cost us for the place and the people who dedicate themselves to assist us in recognizing and trusting that Guidance and Help that you already have within!!
May all Beings recognize and be Grateful for all their Blessings…

Mrs. Tubbsbottl and I visited a very (as in verrrrrry) large church in Ohio State, wherein we discovered an actual ATM machine available to all members.
Uh…..

I am not sure how it was used, Mrs. Tubbsbottl stood by one of the machines and watched, -I was too embarrassed to stand by- She said folks were taking out cash, and with the cash came offering envelopes.

Fenygreek…Ah, giving is still voluntary. My faith is restored.(:>}

Salvation is free.
But when we wrap it up and deliver it, there is a shipping charge.

Freedom is FREE according to Jesus and me.

I can’t say that ATM machine is a bad idea, in our little Anglican church, we could sure use more gifts to help fix up the building. That and our priest seems threadbare most of the times.
