Didn’t Connie knock on Georgia’s door at one point? Still, the left handed handshake and final frame comment speak volumes.

And of course Lynn is handling this with her usual dislike of men. Most men would be more than a little uncomfortable with their ex meeting their current girlfriend. Instead, Lynn writes it up like he has forgotten Connie exists. Most men have a lot more concern for other people than Lynn would have us believe.

    Lynn’s Notes:

Because my brother was so closely tied to the character, Uncle Phil, this comic strip relationship had to be carefully choreographed. I had to be careful not to write about anything that was true to life. When I introduced Georgia (a name I used as a nod to a friend from art school) Alan was single. Within a few weeks of Georgia’s appearance in FBorFW, he met Joan, who looked a lot like the “girlfriend” character I had drawn.

If you dislike Lynn so much, why do you bother reading this strip?

Is Georgia extending the “Left Hand of Darkness”?

Both women are attractive. Phil has a wealth of riches. How to choose?

Couldn’t agree more. That reminds me of one time I was going with this girl who was totally ignoring me. So I found a new girl. What does the previous girl do but decide to drive by the house exactly when I was outside with the new girl. How the heck can the timing be so bad? It was very uncomfortable. And why wouldn’t the previous girl just pay attention when I was around?

nosirrom: I have noticed quite a few comics are “flopped” from their newspaper versions, but the balloons are not (as that would make them illegible for most readers). This is particularly bad with those like Bizarro which are also changed from horizontal to vertical orientation.
