Well, at least Elly & Claire aren’t in the same restaurant with the rude waitress again.

I think she is just resting her arm…and those mugs filled with beer (?) do tend to be heavy… ;)

The colorist seems to think that Elly & Clair’s wardrobes are made up entirely of pink and purple.

Judgemental much? Puh-leeze! Neither is shown as having taken so much as a sip yet. I don’t know about you, but when I’m seated at a table my natural inclination is to rest my arms on it. Your prejudices are showing, and they are not becoming. BTW, with reference to your reference the other day to me being a “newbie” to the strip, guess again. I’ve been reading it since its first run- in NEWSPAPERS. Remember them?

Your reply is truly great. I was going to post a comment but you said it all. Judgemental , oh you bet.

I think most of the comments are sarcasm.

I just think it is sad that she considers getting away from her family freedom.

I doubt very much that the comment from gmartin997 was sarcastic. He along with the two guys in the strip are great examples of the MCP. (You youngsters may have to look that up.)

I’d consider getting away from her family freedom, too.

    “Lynn’s Notes:

I went to a bar with one of the women from the workshop, to celebrate our new friendship and to mourn the end of a wonderful event. We were in our 30s, and guys at another table made suggestive comments and lewd gestures the whole time we were there. I remember thinking, “I make smart-*$& comments for a living, but I can’t think of one clever put-down to fling at these Neanderthals.” It was frustrating!!!"

and no matter how Lynn chose to draw Elly’s arm in the third panel, I really didn’t notice (nor most people here), but I got the gist of the whole comic, which was priceless.

Your sarcasm meter is in need of calibration. The strip shows two ladies politely at a table, and the first comment is “drunken debauchery”. That’s the definition of irony.
