A long jet flight, luggage mixup, explaining why you did what you frequently accused your husband of doing, etc.

In all of my 50 years and flying several times a year, I never had luggage mixed up and the one time I was patted down because I stupidly wore shirt with “bling” on it, they were very careful. I now I was lucky, but overall, even though it’s not as much fun as it used to be, I’ll take a long plane ride over 12 hours in a car or several days to get somewhere. Actually, I’m somewhat impressed at the airlines.

I don’t fly that much, but did have wrongly routed luggage. Was going from Washington DC to Albany. The last two flights were canceled due to mechanical trouble with the planes. So they sent us via connecting flights DC>>Boston>>Islip>>Albany. Meanwhile, my luggage went to Miami. But they did make things good. Brought the luggage to my motel (at 3 AM)

Business trip – Elly’s legitimate excuse to get away for a few days.
But will the kids and Jon survive?

fl;ying is such a pain and hardly what it used to be. now we are all terrorist suspects. as long as i don’t have to pay to be abused, lol.flying is quicker on your butt than driving though.

too bad Elly doesn’t explain Canadian culture us Americans who have no clue about those who live on the blank side of the weather map.

Strange! From up here you’re on the blank side of the weather map. Must be a conspiracy!

Did you leave out a ‘to’ between ‘culture’ and ’Americans?’

Sue’s plan is half there, now for John to get a baby sitter for the weekend and she has John all for herself.
And Winnipeg?? Isn’t that like vacation in Cleveland in February?

I had a luggage mixup on a train to Kingston once. They didn’t tell me that the train with checked luggage service wasn’t the train I was booked on. (D’oh!)

But I was able to check into the hotel okay, then go back to the train station for my luggage that night.

The next day, the power went out for most of the northeast. That was my summer vacation for 2003

Taking a plane anywhere is such a hassle now, I’d rather walk. Which means Hawaii is out.

Oh yes, flying is not what it was in the early years!! these days if we can’t drive there we don’t go!!!

Interestly (maybe because we have so many Canadian tourists), here in Florida, the weather geeks on TV always show us the Canadian map. Along with all the news about storms that mean we’ll be seeing some Canadian snowgeese arriving soon….

    wonder about her ulterior motive
Yesterday, one of the posters provided Lynn’s comments on this. Lynn had originally intended for Sue to be setting this up as a way of starting an affair with John, but Lynn said she herself chickened out on following through with the story arc…

I haven’t flown since Reagan scabbed the Air Traffic Controllers, although that is not entirely post hoc.
