    This is kinda like Disney. His staff knew to quit goofing off when they heard his smoker’s cough. (Or would that be to quit “goofy-ing” off?)

    no1scouse: Herptaphobes changed the name. Another classic was originally called Cluedo, and yet another The Landlord Game.

    True, the original concept was the Snakes and Ladders game from India, but when Milton Bradley brought it to the US, they made the snakes into chutes.
    In the 1950’s, we had a game which pictured little playground slides…very similar to the game the kids are playing.
    Yes, I know this is a Canadian comic, but chances are, those are chutes, not snakes.
    Either way, it was a great game, still fun to play.

    Was it xmas when he dropped that 25 lb turkey on his foot – six weeks and still not healed ? heck this could go on all summer until after their vacation !

    I grew up in Canada and only ever played “Snakes and Ladders.” I hadn’t heard of “Chutes” until it was mentioned here on Gocomics a few months ago.

    It’s only ‘Chutes and Ladders’ in the US, everywhere else in the world it’s ‘Snakes and Ladders’
