About four years ago, some blankety-blank tried to steal the dog from the family across the street when they took the dog with them doing errands. Then the poor thing apparently jumped out of the thief’s pickup into traffic.

Yes, “Pro” Susan, the plot is likely to veer towards cocaine trafficking and risky surgery on the dog as that is naturally what juvenile readers of a comic strip will appreciate and enjoy. Farley the drug mule will get a lot of laughs. So I can see how it reminds you of that as it is a near sure thing that’s what is going to happen. Lucky you are a “pro” vs. an amateur.

Were they South American drug dealers per chance?

I can’t decide if you think you are being funny or if you’re just picking on Susan. Either way, Susan was just reminded of another dog and wanted to share, which I find entertaining and I appreciate her sharing. If you don’t find it interesting, just move on rather than picking on fellow commenters because that is rude and NOT entertaining.

That’s a terrible feeling! Better check the county animal shelter. Maybe someone wanted to get Farley out of the cold and called animal control. Or maybe they were nice and kept him at their house to stay warm.

Now the fear has a new pang. Strangers taking good old Farley! In the US there has been a clandestine trafficking in dogs and cats for use as experimental test subjects. They would pick up strays on the streets and bring them in and get paid. Not saying this is such a thing, but it doesn’t sound good.

What a nasty remark to make! Susan said nothing to warrant such a vile attack. Did you get up on the wrong side of the world this morning?

FYI, Susan doesn’t call herself a ‘pro;’
that is the tag they hang on your handle if you’re someone who feels like it’s only fair to pay for what you’re getting.
(you would know that, if you paid for it.)

I’m sure you will ignore the troll… I also thought your story was interesting; and I especially love the happy ending!

I’m so sorry to hear that. Sometimes they make their way home, don’t give up.
