Awww Michael! Don’t worry, my bear still goes everywhere with me. He’s thirteen and I’m fifteen. Nobody judges

Does Michael know that his suitcase will be inspected before he’s allowed on the plane? Am wondering just how sensitive the security inspectors will be when they come across the teddy in his luggage…

I see a lost suitcase when Grandma and Grandpa come to pick him up.

Don’t forget this is 40 years ago, back when you could carry a loaded, uncovered, double edge razor in the baggage and not get hassled.

Because your baggage went on the plane with you, unopened, unless you were flying international, and then all they wanted was to steal your booze or drugs. Noone cared.

I found a Teddy (well a Koala really) abandonded in a barracks at Bermuda way back when. That little fellow accompanied me all through my navy reserve days chasing Soviet Submarines. Now he sits on my dresser in happy retirement. Named him GunJi.

Correction — it’s only about 25 years ago. The strip’s not that old!

Yup… teddy bears are highly social creatures; they’ve been known to go feral if they suffer prolonged isolation.

I was familiar with some children having such experiences and had seen in at least one movie of children flying alone. No comment from Lynn today.
