    When I was 15 I used my small allowance to buy a set of encyclopedias from a yard sale only to find it had belonged to my aunt and uncle who lived next door.

    Thank God, that John hadn’t started his model train hobby yet. That would have been one expensive yard sale for him.

    At the time this strip was written, Lynn and Rod Johnston were happily married. Even after 25 years of writing the strip, he was still supportive of her (source: her 25th anniversary collection book). The divorce happened long after this strip was written.
