    Quick, Patterson family, turn 180° and you’ll find the hamster!

    ummm, that’s not your hamster under the sink.

    The trouble with having rodents as pets is their lifespan is only 2 years. BTW I detest rats, even the kind that are kept as beloved pets.

    …especially if they’re not really a rat. Animagii live longer, it appears. ;-)

    My 4 cats take care of any rodents foolish enough to enter my home. I, on the other hand, kill tree rats as a hobby.

    Why do schools even do this?? At Michael’s age?? There are other ways to learn responsibility.

    In today’s society, responsibility is an endangered species going extinct.

    Hamsters are not rats. They can be much cleaner, and live 3-4 years. On the other hand, I’m not fond of rats, even the lab animals, and especially the Norwegian ones running in the streets.

    Lynn’s Notes:
    Sallie’s guest did not get away like this, but a reader told me about their hamster’s disappearance. It was eventually discovered months later in a nest he had made for himself inside their couch. A rodent is a rodent after all!

    No kidding! Not sure if I want to know what they’re looking at either. {shiver}

    Should be interesting to see what happens when he has to tell the teacher that the hamster’s gone.

    @ Night-Gaunt49 (from yesterday )

    Humans in hamster balls.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aP2G57ubczQ

    58 seconds

    This started in New Zealand in the ’90s

    .

    It can be dangerous though. There is a video, widely available on the net, of a Zorb ball out of control resulting in severe injury to one, and death to another. There is a criminal investigation going on in that case.

    Isn’t the short life span of rodents their best feature?

    @Alexikakos

    I had an idea for running around in balls, but of a stronger material and in a kind of frame. “Elasomere” but not as a game.
