Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

I’ve twice the trouble with my father: his birthday is two days after Christmas.

I always remember plus I know my mates likes and dislikes. I am the perfect gifter. I lack all sorts of other skills , but I am the King of giving fantastic gifts.

Easy-peasy. Get him a rechargeable power tool and wrap the tool and charger seperately- or a TV and remote, etc., etc. Or just tell him how much he means to you, either day. That one never gets old or shopworn, and costs less and means more than anything they sell in stores.

If he looks at everything in the store, maybe he will remember…or collapse.

Maybe he can discreetly get Mike to ask? Now that I think about it – discreet? Not one of John’s strong points!!

Mine is the day after Christmas, and I insist on separate gifts. My husband and kids are very sweet on my birthday. While it was a stinky day to have a birthday when I was younger (no one was around, everyone was too tired, nothing is open, etc), now I use it as an excuse to not cleanup or cook or deal with the after-Christmas mess for one day. :-)
p.s. I agree with bluskies about telling him what he means to you. I always love that. <3

I had the same issue with my late aunt — her birthday was 12/26.
Throw him a curveball — give him his B-Day present on Christmas, and his Xmas present on his birthday. And tell him you love him both days.

Short term memory loss?
That’s not good for a dentist.

John should adjust to the times. Everyone just creates an e-wish list at their favorite stores.

Mine is Christmas Day, our anniversary is the day after. My honey being there with me is gift enough. Forty-six years and counting.
