Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

Lynn’s Notes:
This little snowsuit, Katie actually wore. It was one of my favourites and when I washed it, I foolishly put it in a hot dryer. It came out looking like a scraggly, matted sheep and I cried when I saw it. Kate didn’t seem to notice and happily wore it until it became too small. At the time, my mother’s creed was, “If it doesn’t go into the washer and dryer, it goes OUT!” After this, I became much more practical. I bought things that could be easily laundered, and I made sure I was aware of her favourite things. My motto was, “If it’s cute and she likes it — LOOK AFTER IT!”

same with DFW but we have had a couple of mornings of freezing temp. Of course by 10AM it is 65 outside and last week it was up into the HIGH 80’s. Gotta love Texas in the winter.

Here in KS temps back to normal. We had a very warm Thanksgiving of 84° I finally had my dream come true, instead of sports went for a walk. I can not stand sports or football.

To me SNOW is a dirty 4 letter word. If I never seen anothre flake of the stuff I would be happy.

Some of us, who are old enough to drive, own our homes, and shovel our drives – still love the snow.

Austin as well where we may have had our coldest night last night when it sank to a frigid 49 degrees. Texas, at least central Texas and points south, does not have winter. We just have a sort of “not summer” season.
