    I never did understand the idea of only doing something special for “company”.

    They’re your company, Michael, so you should give them something.

    Lynn’s Notes:
    Like my mother, I couldn’t resist the hungry faces of kids at the door. It’s amazing, isn’t it, how fresh baking makes folks magically appear.

    Must be nice to do that. Never did but it is fun to read it though.

    Which is worse; when the kids act too dumb, or when they actually outsmart you?

    I think that if Michael hadn’t become a writer when he grew up, he would have made an excellent lawyer or politician! He definitely has a knack for talking people into seeing things his way!!!!! ;-)

    Growing up, my parents told me that once I was in another person’s house, I was bound by their rules. So if a friend’s parents told me “no”, that carried the same weight as my parents telling me no.

    @Terri Brittingham

    Probably because Elly was preparing it for a party or like function for her guests. The kids were Michael’s guests, not hers. As such, Michael is responsible for them.
