Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

Don’t you mean Gordon will tell Michael the hour’s up after every ten minutes? Then Michael will beg Gordon for just little longer.

And Gordon will end up owning a very successful gas station, but will lose his hair.

As I remember. it started out as a gas station and garage and ended up being a large car dealership. He’s already showing his entrepreneurial instincts.

Don’t be too hard on Gordon.
After all, both his parents are alcoholics.

When I was in junior high I would sometimes forget to bring a pen. You could buy one for 25 cents, but a friend would “rent” me one for 10 cents a day.

Liberals!!!!! Just because a guy comes up with succesfull business model you think he is a crook. Gordon later became successfull because he was honest and gave the people what they wanted at a fair price. The trick is figuring out what your customers wnat, which he just did.
