Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

Yes, so she can soak in the tub, and not have to get up to shut the water off.

My ex-husband had that technique down to a fine art! He could turn the water on and off with his toes.

Yep, I don’t think it’s all that uncommon.

Not very useful to those of us to prefer showers to baths. There’s something about rinsing with dirty, soapy water that just doesn’t feel right.

you shower to get clean
you take a bath to relax, then rinse with the shower

@afficionado: In Japan, it’s the other way around. When they go to hot springs or take a bath, they rinse with a shower first before getting in. It only makes sense though to get clean before going into a public hot spring.

Hardware stores are fascinating.
You never know what you “need” until you’re inside one.
Same with drug stores.

Yeah, I think the Japanese got this right (as well as a number of other things, too)
