My grandkids stayed with us for a week last year. Every time my grandson tried to get away with something, I’d tell him, “Forget it – your Dad already tried that thirty years ago, and it didn’t work for him either.”

Granddad has it right. Don’t give them a reason, don’t try to rationalize, just give them a solid NO.

Duck, that’s not a big revelation. Most kids understand that words mean different things for different people. He might have learned it from his parents, he might have learned it from a relative, a teacher or a friend.

Today’s cartoon just shows that he’s learning what the word means to his grandparents.

Puppies can recognize human expression practically from birth. I bet ghrandkids are nearly that smart. You have to LOOK like you mean it. Cats probably can too. but they will never admit it.

There are noes, and then there are noes. You just have to know which one is now.

You can’t stare down a cat, but picking up the spray bottle works wonders.

Good for you, Grandpa! Stand your ground and show them that “no” means exactly that – no. Waiver for a second and they’ll manipulate you at every turn to get what they want. They’re young but they’re already starting to get good at it (especially Lizzie because she’s still so young and cute)!!!

I like this one, I can’t stand whining from a kid, much less from an adult.

I don’t have any two legged kids, all mine are 4 legged and furry, oh and some goldfish and 1 little tetra. One of the goldfish is blind, I’ve had to separate it from the others that was trying to kill it. It’s doing much better, now.
