Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

It’s a good thing Frank’s not a cow or a horse! Mind you, the way Frank’s feeling, he probably wouldn’t notice.
RIP little Frank… go to where the good fishies go :o)

Open, I dont think Frank would notice anything. I had a gold fish when I was little named Goldie, that fish survived cat raids, and died a large old fish, it died of cancer.
RIP Frank.

Michael’s about to get his first big life’s lesson, methinks.

That was cute. Michael is just doing what his parents do when he gets sick. Granted, Frank is much more “sick” than Michael has ever been, but still…
RIP Frank.

Good fishies go for free boat rides - as bait!

My son wanted to bury his fish where his great grandmother was buried when he was 3 years old….
RIP Frank.

Do goldfish cross the rainbow bridge too, or swim under it?

Aww FishStix harsh! Prefer lures to livies myself :o)
(When was the last time you used a goldfish as bait?!)
And Susan001 you are right… sad, but true.

Susan001–how true. I had to flush my goldfish when I was Michael’s age. Cycle of life goes on

Burgundy2, probably swim under it. I dont think gold fish would be good bait.

You must change the water often if you put them in a bowl like that.

God, do we have to think about Farley’s death already – they just got him a few months ago.
