Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

look at her blissful look in panel 3 “fall in love again … le sigh!”
And kiddo, the answer is no, you can NOT watch them fall in love … it’s reminding me of this Youtube video…

in the old days…a kid had to be twenty plus to really believe their parents still do it….

Bring an air mattress or the hard rocky ground under the tent takes a little romance out of things.

I never thought my parents kissing each other was yucky.
Parents who don’t show natural affection to each other in the presence of their children don’t set a very good example of unconditional love for them.
For a couple to “fall in love again,” they have to have stopped loving each other first.
My parents never had to fall in love again, they were always in love from the very beginning.
Michael didn’t understand what “falling in love again” meant.

One of the comments reminds me of the many stories of where children found out how their parents were able to become natural parents and they often responded with shock, “My mother would never do that!”
When I was growing up, many husbands and wives not only wouldn’t talk about sex in public or in front of their children, they didn’t talk about sex when they were ‘doing it.’

Which one does Michael want to watch? TV? his romantic parents?

I do have the air mattress with a machine to inflate the air. So I don’t have to pump the manual thing to inflate or blow the air by mouth.

Warning! Warning! BTDT, ended the week wanting to kill each other. It’s one of those things that sound much better than it is, especially when there are kids involved.
