Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

Isn’t it the truth!!
The mother is the last to get everything. She’s too busy to catch it the first time around.

Moms aren’t allowed to get sick…at least they’re not allowed to let that stop them from nursing everyone else back to health, and cooking, cleaning, doing laundry, picking up meds, etc., etc.

Michael, Liz did not say anything to you. She just got it from you, Michael.
LOLs! On the third panel, Elly got a “boing” opened-wide eyes while Liz coughed and hacked. Funny!
Awww, poor thing on both of them with bad colds or flu! lols!

I know a family in which one kid got the chicken pox and now they’re waiting for the other three to break out with it. Meanwhile everyone is being kept home so they don’t pass it on to others. I feel sorry for the mom.

ROFLH!! I recall my older brother saying those exact words… only it was the chicken pox.
And poor Mom always gets it just as the kids are feeling well enough to start running around again but before they’re well enough to go back to school. Or so my BF claims with her two boys. lol

If you look at the www.fbofw.com website, and look under Meet the Pattersons for Elly, she looks like Liz before they went back in time (or parallel universe or whatever it is)
