Since its debut in 1979, For Better or For Worse has touched comic strip readers as few cartoons ever do. Cartoonist Lynn Johnston’s eye for detail and her uncanny sense of what real parents and children struggle with daily are a big part of her success. The world has watched the Patterson family grow up in real time, and to many readers, the Pattersons feel like family!
Parents and children alike will relate to the obstacles that the Patterson family faces. Curfews, parent date nights, babysitting, pets and distractions are all hurdles that the Pattersons must overcome in order to enjoy each other as a family. They face the same obstacles that real life families do, which is what makes them so loveable.

I wonder if she’ll start drinking out of the toilet to get his approval?

This one is so cute. And a typical boyish reaction. Lynn’s so smart.

I say both! YUK! BUT, Elizabeth didn’t lick Michael’s cheek, she just kissed his cheek. That means she loves him dearly. Michael should appreciate it. He can love her as a sister and kiss her back. So there! :-]

Re: WildMustang1262 your remark about cleanliness of a dog’s mouth…
Would that be before or after they lick their own butt?

It’s what family does. Dog licks brother and he thinks it’s cute and loving. But when (any member of the) Family kisses him, he thinks it’s either embarrassing or thinks it’s gross. Despite the fact that dogs drink from the toilet and clean their private areas.

Would that be before or after they lick their own butt? I would say both before and after! I know that it would be very disgusting to see the way the dog and cat do with their lickings.
