    That fish did not want to date, or be a chum.

    I apologize… I am not quite “getting” this one. If someone would be willing to explain today’s comic, I would appreciate it. I am sure there is something wonderfully witty (as usual with Tony’s work) but I am confused.

    PT, we might say ‘there are plenty of other fish in the sea,’ when in fact we’re talking about other people to date.

    @PipeTobacco

    The common phrase when you break up with someone is “there are plenty of fish in the sea”
    Since a shark is technically a fish in the sea, and trying to eat fish in the sea, it’s using a reverse analogy “people to date” instead of “fish in the sea”

    It’s a clever “reverse” gag.

    Like Shermans gang, they think of people as “hairless apes” (just more food to a shark).
    There are actually guys who date like that (some really foolish ones who would rather keep score than find a “keeper”) is another interpretation.

    Nice! And I saw a shark this weekend while snorkeling so it’s twice as nice.
