    “Twinkle, twinkel, little bat!
How I wonder what you’re at!
Up above the world you fly,
Like a tea-tray in the sky.
    …………..Twinkle, twinkle — "

    The “Mad Hatter.”

    Twinkle, twinkle flying saucer
    Nature’s latest double-crosser
Not a star, not a candle,
Not a comet without a handle.
    So twinkle there, you phenomena,
While we all wonder what you ah.

When I sing the ABC song, it’s to the tune of Freebird.

Only if there is a zombie apocalypse. The zombie original composer would first go after Zombie Mozart and Zombie Haydn (probably Zombie Haydn, because Mozart went to the grave quite poor, and so there is little money to be gotten from him). See Danae and Jeffrey as to the likelihood of an impending zombie apocalypse.

FYI any singer who honors a request to a kid to sing the ABC’s as his grand finale would get an A+ in my book, not an F-. Too cute.

And why are there two endings?

Won’t you come and play with me

    or

Tell me what you think of me.

I liked the similar cartoon years ago where the request was for the “Look for the Union Label” jingle. Of course only old timers will get it because the ILGWU was destroyed by shipping all their members’ jobs to where there were no unions, and nowadays the corporate media wouldn’t permit them on the air anyway.

Ah, there’s more than just those two endings, Simpsonfan2. I’m assuming that all the versions end with “Now I’ve sung my A-B-C’s,” before the lines you quoted. I’ve also heard “Next time, won’t you sing with me?” or “Next time, you can sing with me,” as well as “Now it’s time for 1-2-3’s,” and “I’ll start again, if you please.”
