So Dad gave you away because he was tired of paying your bills? It IS a rather mean comment to make. I was glad when my only girl married a rich man (so I did not contribute to the wedding – I DID pay for the whole grooms’ dinner (all the out of town relatives including my X) and I did not get to choose the venue.
