I am a new reader of the strip. Are these folks living in a retirement home? If so, where do the youngsters fit in? If the oldsters aren’t living together, why are these unrelated people all in the same place. Not complaining, just would like to know.

Hi! I think it’s like this: Flo (white hair & glasses) has her own house, shared with her son Jack (lazy 40ish balding guy) & granddaughter Treggie (spiky hairdo). The other senior citizens are friends: Ruthie (African-American, in today’s strip) has her own place. I think Larry (mustache) may live in a retirement home, as does another sr. citizen, Mr. O (Ortiz I think)…who is 100+ and in a wheelchair! but who has some of the best lines in the strip. As a 50-something guy myself, I really like this one!

I really hate it when people do this. If you want to go outside and get some fresh air, knock yourself out. Making everyone else do it too, and insinuating that their preferred activity is somehow “wrong” is not cool. Stop that already, people!

Ah yes, the ‘well-meaning’ who know your needs so much better than you do. And who just don’t get that even beneficial activities are of little if any benefit if the participants are unwilling. What’s more, ‘wrong’ is often simply a code word for “I don’t approve of that.”
