   Anthony: Just a few facts. Obama’s presence on the ballot attracted a huge Black voting participation. They overwhelmingly supported Prop 8. It is accepted that they were a main part of the reason it passed. So lighten up on the Mormons and go after Blacks.

   You are correct about the Blacks, Wachs, but that doesn’t lessen the fact that the Mormons contributed the majority of the money.

   And it was Mormons, not blacks, who supplied most of the people-hours, or respond to ecclesiastical calls to spend four (or more) hours each week making phone calls and using the internet to get people interested in voting yes. They did not organize massive get-out-the-vote campaigns or spend hours on street corners waving Yes on 8 signs.

   If they did similar activities to ACORN- that is register, fund, target audiences and make phone calls- all legally they should receive the same praise you give to ACORN. Good politics.

   Can’t argue with you there, Wachs. It was an impressive effort, mobilizing millions of dollars and thousands of workers, many from two states away.

   It’s always a bit irksome when a state election is tipped by out-of-staters, given that it was a state issue. But of course, that’s not the first or last time that happened.

    There will be an upsurge in the Gay community soon. China has 32 million more boys than girls under 30 looking to marry. It’s a result of their 1 child policy. Traditionally, boys carry on the family name, and support the elderly family members when they become to old to work. The 32 million boys may not be gay, but they won’t find girls to marry.
