That analogy holds true for a lot longer than a generation. Back in the 19th century, when the fastest form of mass-communication was the telegraph, they ran cables across the oceans, so a message could be sent and received within a couple of days. This was a major breakthrough, since trans-continental letters usually took weeks or months to be delivered. Nowadays, the fastest form of mass-communication is the internet. When they wanted to connect the whole world, once again they ran cables across the oceans.

My dad said the same thing in the 60’s and it DOES still apply today.

I listen to music from the 60s and 70s and love it, but I also love Brad Paisley, Nickelback, etc. My Ipod has everything from America, Bread, and the Beach Boys to Brad Paisley, Carrie Underwood, Sugarland, to Nickelback and Linkin Park. I love it all and I’m only 27. I agree with drtoon.
