Newlyweds Cathy and Irving navigate the treacherous waters of couple-hood. From pampered pets to prying parents, they’ve got a lot to learn! Wedding or not, it’s still all about Cathy - she personifies the young career woman and her typical daily obstacles. Ice cream, panic attacks, stress and love are all in a day’s work. We read, we identify, we laugh. Who could ask for more?
Cathy is the Everywoman. She deals with diets, self-esteem, in-laws, and letting her husband know that she is the boss. Everyone can identify with her shopping, bills, taxes, planning for the future and coping with her husband’s incessant computer golf games. Whether you are a newlywed, single, or have been married for decades, all will enjoy the daily predicaments of Cathy and Irving.

Guess you can “justify” just about anything you want with that sort of thinking. No wonder people’s finances are in a mess!

Why don’t you kiss it all over like you did yesterday Cathy?

Shouldn’t she be concentrating on buying Christmas presents for her family? New golf stuff for Irving…new apartment for the inlaws…

Hope these boots are not packed with cuffins, whips, chains…

I’m sick of these shopping story arcs. In this economy, they are nothing but insulting!
Cathy is described as “the Everywoman”. Well, I’m not like her at all, thank Heavens, and neither are my women friends.

Susan001 - I absolutely agree with you. I’m not a shopper. I would never spend $100’s on one pair of footwear! Or on a purse, or a “must have” dress, etc…… That’s how too many people got themselves into trouble - put the “must have” stuff on CC’s (not just clothes, but other stuff too) and then wonder why they are in so much debt….

I like to shop but I shop at thrift stores and not that often, maybe once every couple of weeks. And I’d never buy the cr*p she buys.
