Must have been very arduous for her. Still, may be her reaction will prepare Calvin for the big bang to follow. I think he should tell her.

You better find someone to tell before the guilt totally consumes you. HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY TO ALL OF YOU.

It amazes me that kids can always talk to moms more easily than dads. Both my brother and I were always more comfortable confessing or taking a problem to Mom first. My three kids (1 boy, 2 girls) always went to my wife first and all five of my grandchildren go first to their moms - my daughter (1 boy, 1 girl) and daughter-in-law (3 girls).

    Is this genetic or cultural?

One of the funniest lines ever if you think about it… Calvin had to hear his mom say that at least once… lmao… too funny.

Yeah, mom is worse then dad. Dad just gets mad and punishes Calvin. Mom does that, and she gives him a lecture on it.

Better to tell one of them than let Dad find out on his own.

On the day the Convention closed, Sept. 18, a woman named Mrs. Powel had been restlessly waiting to learn of the proceedings. As the wise Benjamin Franklin came outside, she asked, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?”

And his reply troubles me today. He said, “A republic, if you can keep it.”

Those are pointed words: If you can keep it.

Sometimes we do a better job of torturing ourselves than the real punishment ever inflicts. Fess up Calvin.

Ladywolf17, I don’t think Calvin’s problem is guilt, I’d call it more of an anticipation of a comming apocolypse.

I wonder how Calvin went through that birth experience:
“Spaceman Spiff shakes out his umbilical as he prepares to exit the Mother Ship…”

    General Yukoner.

In many cases, dads actually lack the wisdom necessary for specific situations or are unwilling to learn the specifics in the first place (describes my dad to a “t”; mum at least was willing to listen/learn but also lacked the wisdom to deal with it, especially if she decided to involve dad).

bobothehobo, he IS telling someone, Hobbes! Dad will find out soon though. I remember when I was young, my brother and i went running down the hallway. Everytime we passed a door one of us grabbed the handle and shut it. Then we shut ourselves into our room. Needless to say Dad knew immediately we were up to something.
