   I’ve lost a bed in the night to my sheppard/husky like that…wound up in the recliner for a few hours! Then he would want to go for a mile long walk in the snow in the morning.

    I think it looks like the door knob is on the wrong side of the door because of the way Calvin is pushing on it…there is an outline of the door frame on the left side of the panel, so Calvin is just expending more energy than he needs to by trying to torque the door so close to the hinge point.

    Not true. Energy is the product of the intensity of the force and the distance through which it moves. While pushing near the hinged side requires more force, it is applied through a shorter distance. QED, the energy remains the same.

    That doorknob in the last panel bugs me too. It looks almost like it’s installed on the hinge side of the door, that’s assuming that the door opens out into the hall. But yeah, the way Calvin is pushing on it, the door opens into the bathroom, so I guess it’s OK, but I sure can see why other people spotted it.

    Placement of the door knob shows that Watterson is not perfect. Just near perfect. And you don’t fool with Hobbes.

    Comments compelled me to take a studious look at the door/knob situation. It’s clear that Watterson got abit sloppy with proper perspective because the wall baseline on the right suggests the door might be opening OUTwards whereas the doornob definately suggests it’s opening INward.

    I suggest the creator of Calvin & Hobbes be publicly flogged for creating such a stir.

    That’s what I get for being late today. I was gonna say a simple “You go Hobbes!” and then you guys get going about a doorknob. It does look like the knob should be on the opposite side from where Calvin’s pushing.

    On a related note, does anyone notice that the toilet seems way too high for Calvin? He’s gonna have to stand on the seat to do his business.

    bleeep all of y’all who make comments about things shuch as the door knob and the toilet almost 1/2 through or more, it buggs me so much that i have to stop and go back to the top to see what i missed.

    any ways. i think this is a great strip. i have to fight for the bed with my dog, thank God he is not smart like hobbes, if so i would be stuck.

    I came back to check after this morning. It’s 6:44 pm my time, and I see the doorknob and toilet STILL has everyone fascinated!

    One time,the monsters under the bed were tormenting him so he’ed pee,although he couldn’t get out of the bed,because of the monsters.Another thing to factor in is his parents are looking at the shrubs on calvin’s side of the house. HE PEES ON THEM HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!
