So is this cartoon pro-hunting, or anti? (Note the “we kill” on the one hunter’s jacket)

So, what do I think? Well, I think that venison is pretty dang tasty.

    Mmm, venison.

Very abstract cartoon. I enjoyed it enough to not opine on it here Toaster, because watching you miss Donna’s point is more amusing… ;D

Once in a while she manages to make a clear point. Today is not that day.

While overcrowding, by human development has led to “over population” of deer in many eastern areas, out here in my area, overgrazing and mis-use of the land is leaving us with terrible herd losses. Removal of natural predators is a big factor in both areas. PETA pinheads have it just as wrong as those out to shoot anything that moves for a trophy. But yes, venison is tasty, and healthier than beef or chicken. We may all be down to Soylent green soon, so why worry?

Where I grew up everyone hunted, more for sport then need, but there was plenty of venison to go around, so here are some quick tips.

Venison is tough, chewy, and very gamey. You get use to it, but you would never choose it over a good steak. Never eat it rare! There isn’t a lot of good meat on a deer, so a large part of the deer goes to waste.

If you don’t hunt stay out of deer country during hunting season – very dangerous – if you have lived in the backwoods you know what “Buck Fever” is, and how dangerous it is to innocent bystandrs.

ESA apparently is the Ecological Society of America. I haven’t a clue why Donna is on this but FWIW…
BTW, I dislike venison, even grain-reared, but that’s a personal preference. I’d rather the rest of y’all who like it would eat it than to let it rot. Obviously some culling must be done.
