    Stop calling it “health care reform.” That”s just false, deceitful, Orwellian Newspeak being parroted by the Demoncrats.

    We’re talking about a government TAKEOVER of the entire health care industry. Because that is what it will be, if not at first, then later. The current bill(s) are designed solely to allow government (meaning the Demoncrats) to get its foot in the door. Once its passed, that’ll be the end of any pretense about “reform.” The federal government will simply behave as though it has been given total control over healthcare, and will defy the public to prove otherwise.

    Anyone who can’t see this coming is either willfully ignorant or else hasn’t paid any attention to EVERY Federal “entitlement” program created since the 1930’s…

    So, who cares if they take over the industry. I say good riddens, health insurance is a scam that provides nothing to the consumer other than worry and bills. Even the bible is against health insurance (as a form of ursery and gambling), I say, lets put this monster back in it cage and just have a single payer system. It is the easiest, least expensive and very popular with anyone who uses it.

    hey Michael Rupp, scottfreitass doesn’t necessarily have issues. He probably just has stock in big insurance and big pharma. and he also hasn’t noticed that the government pretty much insures about 50% of people already, like the Medicare recipients at the tea parties telling the government to keep its hands off their insurance.

    It’s easy scott. Divest yourself from those stocks, invest in something worthwhile, like wind and solar power, and life will go on.

    Medicare is BROKE. Medicaid is BROKE. They continue to exist only because the Government printing presses are running full steam 24/7, printing counterfeit money backed up by nothing but hot air. There is no possible way to sustain the insane levels of growth in government taking place now, and within a few years at most the entire foundation is going to collapse out from under us.

    Meanwhile, China continues building its military up at a record pace–a rate FAR surpassing ours in terms of GNP– and also China keeps buying up precious metals, sealing deals for more offshore oil drilling all around the world, growing its economy each year in double digits while ours continues to stagnate, building more and more high-tech factories and power plants and rail lines and you-name-it…

    China, of course, does not have a debt. Its government runs a huge SURPLUS each year.

    You little girls all living in your THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS GOD ETERNAL AND IMMORTAL state of brainwashing are pathetic. You’re going to get a hard, cold dose of reality handed to you during your lives, and when you predictably only break into tears and look for some woman to save you, you’ll discover those sorts of tactics only work in Hollyweird movies…

    Despite the objections, all scott said is that “reform” is the wrong nomenclature, and “takeover” is the more accurate term. Does anyone really have any objection to or contention with his point? I didn’t think so…the left always uses the term “reform” to express what they are doing, because it’s a voter-friendly term. Tax “reform” always amounts to something other than a decrease in government spending…and healthcare “reform” will amount to government enlargement, of a necessity. Not really debatable.

    Howie, you DO realize, don’t you, that vaccines are produced by private companies, not the government? All we in the government do is the basic research to show what is necessary. Then the private sector is supposed to take it from there. Free market and enterprise and all that.

    And if you already have been infected with H1N1, why get the vaccine? It would seem to me that you’ve already got plenty of antigen already.
