   Blah, blah, blah. The Bible condemns a LOT of stuff nearly everyone ignores. The Bible also commands a lot of stuff nearly everyone ignores. The modern “Christian conservatives” are all to happy to ignore what ever parts of the Bible they see fit while looking down on the rest of us for not cowing to the few bits and pieces they do follow.

   That said, I do agree that people have come to rely too heavily on high interest credit cards. If you really need that Margaritaville blender, you would have saved up for it. Same for all that hideous capodimonte junk people get from the shop at home channel.

   scott, the Supreme Court certainly did not strip Christianity from *my* school. I went to 12 years of Catholic school. Crucifix in every classroom, religion a required subject (except for non-Catholics, of course), school Mass once a month or more for Holy Days of Obligation…nope, still there. Still in both my daughters’ schools, too.
   If, however, I were a Catholic in a public school in North Carolina (where I grew up), and was forced to follow the dictates of the majority of Christians there – Baptists, many fundamentalists – I for one would be more than a little oppressed. Especially since a number of said Baptists would be quite happy to say that I am condemned to H3ll unless I worshipped their way. Had I been Jewish, it might have been even worse.
   The Supreme Court ensured that obligatory religion stayed in religious schools, and in churches, and in the hearts of the religious – which is where it belongs.

   Scott must understand the principles of ownership in the Old Testament, along with the concept of Jubilee when everything goes back to the original owners. Just as he knows the principles of the three tithes. What he has forgotten is “Judge not! Lest ye be judged,” and “render unto Caesar.”
   To those who thought that they were justified under the “Law,” Jesus proved that they were frauds. Scott needs to read Matt. 5-7 “The Sermon on the Mount.” I wonder if he will boast in his righteousness then.
