Only a racist could dream up this comic.

Limbaugh *is* racist, dude.
cjr53 said, 3 months ago
I think Limbaugh’s history makes this one quite credible.
What surprises me is that it doesn’t say, blacks, liberals and gays to back of the bus, and we’ll drop you off soon, never to re-enter this bus.

Sharpton, Jackson, and Wright can say whatever racist bile they want with no consequences and rake in millions of dollars through extortion and hypocrisy. Whether you like Rush or not, it is ridiculous to force him out of the bidding process based on politics and hatred. Rappers own major league teams and spout worse garbage. The NFL gives second chances to atheletes who kill people and animals, and kill people driving drunk. Roger Goodell has been a joke of a commissioner since he took over and may kill the top professional sport in the US before he is done.
I am not crying for Rush. I am crying for what is happening to our country.

This is ridiculous… Opinionated, Extreme Right-Wing, Brash… yes, but Racist?!?! Tough to swallow… sorry Mr. Benson you look a little silly on this one…

he’s got a long history of racist and sexist remarks, which when exposed to those outside of his base audience (and I used that word with multiple meanings) he always says, oh, i didn’t mean it that way … it’s your fault for hearing it that way.
But hey it keeps his ratings up!
d_legendary1 said, 3 months ago
The good news is that he won’t be an NFL owner.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this was a publicity stunt since he has been making the rounds in just about, oh i don’t know…ALL THE MAJOR NETWORKS!!!

Gee nothing said when Williams sisters bought into Miami Dolphins. .
Goodall says Limbaugh is bad for NFL image. Yes he hasn’t killed anyone, beat up his wife, etc., etc.
Some Rams said they wouldn’t play for Rush. Gosh at 0-5 doesn’t look as though they can or will play for anybody.

Now here’s racism …
petergrt said, 3 months ago
He is a conservative, ergo, a racist by definition.
If I recall correctly, one of his closest friends is Justice Clarance Thomas, I think he officiated at his last wedding …
But than again, Judge Thomas is an Uncle Tom …
It is however quite amusing to see two of the most wile racists - Jackson and Sharpton, spew more racism - with respectability extended them by the PC culture.

If Limbaugh did become an owner, it would be a step up for the NFL–none of the so called racist remarks attributed to him has been sourced in any way.
This is typical of the left wing liberal media’s attempt to denegrate any conservative by any means possible–especially by outright lies.

He’s not a racist, but partly brought this on himself with his uncharitable humor.

Heard an interesting commentary from a liberal political scientist yesterday. And in essence he said that,, yes, Limbaugh is an obnoxious, lying, and probably racist SOB, but that denying him the privilege of buying the Rams is wrong. That makes the ability to purchase based on whom the seller likes rather than who has the ability to buy.
I personally don’t care – a private seller ought to be able to sell to whomever they want regardless of ability to pay, but I see his point. It’s now just a popularity contest, and only those in the good ol’ boys club will get in.
But he also suggested that Rush never really expected to be able to purchase (either singly or with a group) the Rams. He only wanted the attention and the ability to claim later that he was being crucified for his beliefs.
Apparently, he got what he wanted because he’s out of the deal.

but it was the group of private buyers-to-be that dumped Rush, so it was free market principles and had nothing to do with the NFL, right?
wbr said, 3 months ago
NO nosense they dump rush not because current owner would not but other owners would not let them sell — good news for chiefs they may have chance to be better than rams
padagge said, 3 months ago
Interesting that most folks want to believe they dumped Limbaugh because he’s a racist (Confirmation Bias?). I assumed they dumped him because he’s a self-absorbed arrogant asshole….

the plot thickens…
With all the attacks on Rush Limbaugh’s bid to be a part owner of the NFL’s St. Louis Rams, the most disturbing part of the story may be what isn’t being broadcast far and wide: that far-left financier and real-life Nazi helper, George Soros, also may be a part of the group that includes Limbaugh and seeks to buy the team. That’s what Bloomberg columnist, Scott Soshnick, is reporting.
motivemagus said, 3 months ago
I think Limbaugh has the right to buy the team…and the players have the right to leave it and/or sue him if he treats them badly!

he wasn’t trying to buy it outright, he was trying to buy it as part of a group, group didn’t want him as part of their group anymore, so be it. big deal. i just don’t get this uproar.

The group ultimately didn’t want him to be part of it because of the uproar caused by the hateful left and the pi$$ poor reporting done by the mainstream media. If a liberal were treated the way Limbaugh was treated and forced out there would be ten times the uproar and you know it believecommonsense, be honest. Remember, they asked him to be a part of it, and they knew what his background was. They couldn’t take the heat, lies, and pressure from the left and the MSM.
The losers in the whole thing are going to be the city of St Louis if a group buys them and moves the team, but if they move then that is capitalism. I’m sure Rush doesn’t really even care that much.

wminfield, in all honesty, if it was a liberal dumped by the other investors, it would not bother me. This is the way the free market capitalism works! if investors dumped him because they feared blowback, they have that right. Fearing blowback is part of the decision making process in free market capitalism.
It’s a high stakes, high yield business. It’s a game. Rush gets to exercise his free speech rights, owners/investors get to exercise their right to associate with those they believe will help them get higher return on investment. They also have the right to change their mind if if outside pressures make them believe a potential owner comes with a downside that could affect profits.
It’s really that simple for me. If Mike Farrell wanted to be a part of purchasing a team, and he was dumped because other investors thought his liberalism would cause blowback from conservatives, so be it. There’s no inherent right of either Limbaugh or Farrell to be a part owner in a football team.
Rush puts his outrageous voice out there and makes an extraordinary amount of money. His right to do that is not limited by his being dumped from a bid for a football team.
I don’t see any losers here. This is the way the private market works.

I agree with what you say, and I wasn’t really speaking of you being outraged. My only concern goes back to our garbage news media that takes bloggers information and runs with it without sourcing it (and creates lies to make stories). I still say that most people on the left would be outraged if a person from the left were treated as Rush was in this case (and the media would blow it up a lot more). I am not outraged that Rush won’t be part owner of a team either. I don’t care about that at all.
If the media disrupts this group from buying it, there is the potential that another group will buy the team and the city will lose its team. That is capatilism though, because if it happens then they should have supported the team more and shown their displeasure in other ways.

I completely agree with the responsibility of media — and I mean all media who claim to provide news — to fact check information before airing or publishing it. I really don’t like the “some say” lead in … it’s certainly not news and it’s a lazy way to do no fact checking at all.
I don’t know in this case how much the media created this story vs. reporting this story. I know Rush has made racist statements … they’re available on YouTube and other sources with the audio from his radio shows. He’s apologized for some statements, like the one where he told a female caller to take the bone out of her nose.
I also know that some stories are making the rounds about things Rush is said to have said but they have no sourcing for them. I went to snopes.com and they have a page on recent Rush sayings.
