Jan Eliot's funny and irreverent Stone Soup follows the saga of an extended, blended family, starring two working-mom sisters living just across the fence from each other. Val and Joan share life with their opinionated mother, a middle-school diva and 10-year-old tomboy, a reclusive teenage boy, a wild preschooler and his new baby sister...and of course Wally, the ultimate nice guy who steps into his stepdad shoes with grace amid the chaos. Working-parent hassles, pre-school tantrums, middle-school angst, love and the single mom... it's all here in Stone Soup.

Holly has much to learn about twisting her father around her little finger, but learn it she will.

Wally’s not Holly’s father, he’s her uncle.

Would somebody please explain why that little monster gets ice cream for stomping on Holly’s beetle? He is one of the most irritating characters in all of comicdom.

Sorry, not Holly, Alix. Too long in the auto inspection line this morning.

Way to teach Wally. Cry and you’ll be rewarded. Hey, almost like our current administration…………

Ok, ok, nix on the politics….
Ice cream was the distraction to prevent the destruction (of Max)….it wasn’t the crying at all. And if one gets ice cream you know they will all scream for ice cream. Hence Max gets ice cream to keep the decibles down.

Right, harebell, but where will it end?

Holly should have read the fairytale Great Klaus and Little Klaus before trying such an imitation (idea Holly, how about you read that tale and do a report for Evie?)

Holly, jealous much?

Holly doesn’t have a father to “twist around her finger.” There was a touching story arc about a year ago where she ran away from home to visit the cemetery to talk with him.
