I’ve enjoyed this strip very much for this past year. Asmussen has consistently come up with really brilliant ideas, But these fall way short of his other work. They seem to be merely mean. That’s never good humor, especially at the expense of a 17-year-old who is surely extremely distressed by all this.

You are right, MrNavyBean. Still, while I didn’t object to his embarrassing public figures for the sake of humor (the “wide stance” clown comes to mind), I think 17 year old girls who have made a life-changing mistake should be off-limits. He could’ve had some fun with her mom’s hairdo, for example. (Still…the “cuter…Chinese tot”) headline was ingenious. :-)

What a hypocritical world we live in, we give up our moral values and then condemn one for getting caught. (I personally think we should have compassion on her & not see how far she can be pushed…) People are heartless!
