    In the “Cheers” TV series, there were a lot of extras who were in the bar almost every show and yet they had no lines and the members of the speaking cast didn’t even speak to them.

    Yesterday, Thor was doing target practice with both a spear and a bow with arrows.

    And the deer crossing sign he was using as a trarget had a “stag with antlers” painted on it.

    Is it “antlerless deer season” where the comic strip takes place?

    Here in Oklahoma, the archery deer season runs from Oct 1 through Jan 15.

    The muzzleloading season opens on the fourth Saturday in October and runs for nine days. The deer gun season opens the Saturday before Thanksgiving and runs for 16 days.

    With the muzzleloading and gun seasons, antlerless days vary by zone

    Note to all of those who wished me Happy Birthday yesterday: I say “Thanks.”

    It was just like any other day for me. My older sister, Edna, used her daughter’s cell phone to call me and wish me Happy Birthday. Linda is 20 years and 7 days younger than me.

    Edna was born on October 12 the year before me. That day of the month was still a regular holiday when she was born.

    Unlike them, I wasn’t born on a federal holiday; but, Nov. 4 was Will Rogers’ Birthday. In Rogers County, Oklahoma, it used to be a school holiday if the date occured on a weekday. A parade was held on the 4th unless the day was on a Sunday and then it was held on the Satuday before. Yesterday there were activities on the ranch where Will Rogers was born.

    I do have the Rogers name in my family tree.

    Wiley’s Bar seems to be male-gender oriented and there only seems to be heterosexuals in this strip.

    The stag was chasing a doe; he was NOT chasing another stag.

    Also, in however many years this strip has been running there have never been any cave-babies introduced. There’s a lot of flirting going on, but maybe there’s a REASON the Fat Broad and the Cute Chick share a cave. The Butch/Femme dynamic isn’t entirely a myth…
